The gauges read the same when the power is off. I will install a mechanical flow gauge on the source side to verify flow rate. At least temporarily.

If you do "break" into the loop, it will have to be flushed and purged. If you are going to flush and purge anyway, first back flush the source coil in case it is obstructed. An obstructed coil can give an OK DeltaP even though flow is diminished.

Should I backflush the entire source loop or just the coil? I had someone suggest installing a inline filter on the source loop as well. Other than it reducing the flow rate is this a common/recommended practice?

"Again the source side DT may indicate trouble but is not the source of trouble, changing that will not make trouble go away. If the numbers you are offering are accurate, then your installer likely did not get the job done correctly (perhaps a little refrigerent was lost in the shuffle)."
You can keep doing what you are doing but it does not change these points.
"......But if the numbers you are offering are accurate then somehow your heat pump is overdelivering while underextracting which is not likely true."
You remain fixated on the source side DT instead of other information before you.

I watched him weigh in the refrigerant from the manufactures plate on the font of the geo-unit. I am asking questions about the source loop to confirm or rule out a problem there. The unit has been running since the filter-drier was replaced recently.

So then I suspect you have poor temperature measurements. clamp on temp probes are easy to fool. Put them side by side and move them around a little on the same pipe and see if they always read the same.
