You are right Chris. Galvanized clips, connectors, flashings, etc... are attached and cast into concrete all the time with no problems. For the most part, the isolation has more to do with protecting the parts from 'Green' concrete which hasn't fully cured and is still damp and has a high ph which is corrosive. Galvanized steel and fully cured concrete are compatable materials for the long term under normal circumstances. Isolating one from another is just 'hedging your bets' against abnormal conditions.
not sure what your point is here ? or what is an abnormal condition, unless you mean catastrophic failure
