Has anyone ground some of these specific brands up and tested whether they corrode metals, offgas, kill animals, etc? I'm not worried about MgO, but what about "Proprietary Additives" (see MSDS). OK, I see some testing results, but not all of these. |

It is really beneficial to work with someone from the US that oversees the manufacturing overseas. |

"Magnum Board® is a mineral based product free of carcinogens and silica. It has been tested to the U-Pitt Toxicity Protocol required by New York City, NY and has been found to be non-toxic."
And a link to their MSDS

We recently starting distributing Magnum Board in MN. |

For example, I understand that the U-Pitt toxicity test only relates to when the substance is heated or burning. I'm not sure this means "non-toxic" generally.

I'm curious, what are the available sizes of MGO board? |

Magnum board comes in 4mm-24mm thick and up to 4'x10' sheets. They have siding, trim and a floating sub-floor too. |

Thanks, EnergyWise. I thought that I'd heard that quite awhile ago. I know that one could design a structure where those sizes would work but it seems like this would be a serious limiting factor in the widespread use of this product as a SIP skin. |

6mm (1/4") seems to be most popular of SIPs. |

So, I'm Curious again here, EW. With 1/4" skins, you're not talking about a "structural" panel are you? If so, where could you get by with that in the U.S. |

I am not sure, not being a SIP guy myself. But 6mm is what I heard from my Magnum Board people. Earth Core, in CO, is supplying the Magnum Board SIP panels for a house in MN, if you know anyone there. Or else, check with SIPA, because I know the owner of Magnum Board met with them recently. |

It states non-toxic in its "intact" form, so just don't cut it or drill it Glad you posted the MSDS and would advise that people read the part about eye and skin irritation and dust clean up with a HEPA filter |

The non-toxic, "intact", could just mean that is how it was tested and it wasn't tested as dust. And generally speaking we should not inhale any dust. But I don't know for sure. |

New to this forum, I work for a company that has developed a process for powder coating non-conductive substrates. We have been working with a particular MgO board to provide a powder coated surface. I am looking to see how interested, other board distributors /manufactures are in seeing their product coated. Currently working on a silver-metallic color and speckled sandstones, we have done blue, grey and white. MGOCOATER |

Pre-finished exterior buildings without siding or cladding. (commercial) Speckled or vein(s) colored board to camouflage imperfections (no level 5 finish) to be used as fire proof paneling in commercial buildings. Very green finishing |
