How does the metwood box beam compare in cost to a Douglas Fir beam of equal structural strength?

I don't use wood often , so I really don't know , that 30 ft. beam cost $780. including 2 end hangers...... it is welded at the seams and internally has 4 - #8 rebar welded to 4 inside corners and 2 upright welded struts@ 24" oc, forming an internal steel truss

the uplift load was calculated at 55# per sq. foot

Chris, I really think you should have put one more hex-head screw in that beam pocket :)
