Is there current advice on the best thermostat for a Waterfurnace Geothermal unit? For me, the ideal thermostat would: - be easy to read (not a dark blue on slate gray LCD) - would make it very obvious when there is a furnace fault (not display an almost invisible Call for Service, in a very small font) - would make it obvious when the thermostat was calling for electric backup heat (as opposed to flashing a hard to see +2) and it'd be even better if the thermostat could keep a log of furnace activity versus outside temperature. If it makes a difference, I have a Waterfurnace Envision and the poorly designed TP32W02 thermostat that came with it. After some very expensive initial problems and no support from Waterfurnace I found a knowledgeable contractor (Gallagher Heating & Cooling) in SW Ohio and the unit is performing very well now. So I'm not looking to solve a current problem; but I'd like to better understand the unit's operational characteristics. Thanks,

Ecobee is my fav, But I don't know of thermostats that report furnace problems other then reporting when it is taking a long time to heat the building up.
