I do believe that ICFs are the best choice for residential structures if the installer is experienced.
Building with ICF is not hard. With some training, which most suppliers offer, and a little help checking out bracing and placing the concrete, a DIYer can do the job and save quite a bit of money. That's what I did and the whole process went smoothly. The key is to do your homework and not take shortcuts.
