i was wondering if i could get some opinions on the house my wife and i are planning to build. i will be doing as much of it as i can. first off i am a contractor and have tools and equipment i will need as well as 20 plus years in res. and com. concrete. we plan to build in mystic ct 06355 zone 5. basic 28x34 colonial w/garage. fdn. 10" poured walls w/ 2" xps on the exterior and 2" underslab. sips walls 6" or 8". looking into triple pane windows... anyone like harvey tribute? i-joists w/ r-19 batt and warmboard. either hip or gable stick built roof with cellulose and semi-conditioned attic space. (framed out for a/c) rainscreen with cement board lap siding. i will probably run some loops in the basement floor but i don't even think i'd need to. would you keep the warm board? other options for radiant? and lastly heating dhw and radiant? basically i'm looking to build an energy efficient house at the same time watching our budget. thank you in advance. eric
