I've read what I can find and watched YouTubes, but I don't quite understand running wires in SIPs.
1. If there aren't any vertical channels, how do you get the wire from the basement up to the horizontal channel for outlets?
2. Once the wire is in the horizontal channel, do you push it (or pull it) to the end of the run, and then pull out some excess at each outlet opening?
3. With no vertical channels, how do you get wires up the panels for switches? I've seen the technique of dropping a hot ball bearing down to create a channel, but I'm looking for a different method.
4. The SIPs I am considering don't have horizontal channels at switch height. What are the drawbacks of not having those channels?
5. How do you get wires to the second floor?
6. I have the option of having drywall installed prior to the panels going up. Will having the drywall on make doing the cutouts significantly more difficult?
Thanks
You have to have the vertical chases in OSB SIPs to go floor to floor or to wall/ ceiling fixtures, an electrician that had done several OSB SIP houses for me "likened" the job to the same as a remodeling job with all the wire fishing
