34 MGO SIP homes survived category 5 hurricane Maria on St. Croix USVI with 200 mph winds while sustaining only minor damage, loss of solar panels and minor impact damage to the exterior finishes of thew homes. No water intrusion into any of the homes; all homes livable after the storm while the neighbors were not so lucky. The homes are constructed with 4" MGO SIP Impact rated wall panels and 6" MGO SIPS roof panels engineered for 170 mph hurricane winds. javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6132,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6134,24560,0); ljavascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6135,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6137,24560,0);

Maria slammed St. Croix USVI with 200 mph wind gusts devastating the Island as more than 80% of the building structures were damaged. javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6138,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6139,24560,0);

One home did sustain a fractured 4" exterior SIP panel. Two sections of roof (both more than 10' long) from the second story of a conventional built home behind the Sugar Mills community were hurled through the air by the 200 mph winds and slammed into the side of one of the homes. This type of impact would have leveled most homes, but the MGO SIP home took the full force of the impact. It should be noted that the Category 5 wind hurricane wind bust of 200 mph exceeded the design wind speed of these homes by 30 mph. You can see the sections of roof in the image that hit the MGO SIP Home. Innova manufactures a coastal impact approved MGO SIP panel that is rated for winds in excess of 200 mph. The panels used on the St. Croix project are not the Coastal Impact Approved panels as they are only 4" panels. Hurricane Maria proves the unquestioned disaster resistance of the Innova MGO SIPS structures. javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6140,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6141,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6142,24560,0);

I think I'm most impressed with the hurricane rated aerial masthead power drops. I didn't know they stood up in 200 mph winds.
