In the particular structure I am contemplating, the concrete would be for the first floor above a basement. Everything else can be made with steel and or concrete faced sips but I am getting hung up on the floor. I can live with a small increase over a stick build for a fireproof / highly fire resistant structure but I am thinking the cost of hanging a concrete floor is going to kick it up out of my financial range. That being said, Chris do you have a rough guess as to how much the concrete floor in "the castle" cost on a per foot basis?
thanks Griz
Griz,
I would estimate the cost at $12/sq. ft.
, but you can achieve fire rated floors with both wood or light gauge steel joists
