Just looked at your entire gallery. Good job of documenting the progress. One question. What's the reason for using a double 90 on the concrete hose? Does it make for a more solid stream coming out the end? I've never seen one being used before, either in person or in photos.

A double 90 should always be used when pumping into ICF's to slow down the concrete as it falls from the top of the boom arm.

Two reasons are 1 it reduces the likelihood of 'peel' thats when you put too much pressure on the foam at the top of the wall and push the foam off the connectors and or push the wall over, and 2 to stop concrete separation maintaining and even flow rather than the spurting effect you get if you let the concrete 'free fall'.

Thanks. I thought that must be the reason for it. That little detail isn't mentioned in the BuildBlock manual, that I see anyway, but it is in about 4 other manuals I have. However, none of them highlight it, and it's easy to miss. I hadn't seen it in any of the manuals until now when I checked after seeing your comment above.

What about a reducer in lieu of the double bend? Most of the manuals say to use a reducer or a double 90. The Amvic manual shows and mentions a double S. It looks like a pipe cross over, or a horizontal sewer trap.

Ben: Your Platon system looks sweet. Nice Job with it and the weeper stone. First class.
Combined with the footer system you used, you won't have any surprises come springtime. LOL.
