why did you do an experiment? Because I had questions. It's what I do. you are telling others to just believe something I'm not telling you to "just believe" anything. i am sure the literature hasn't changed much about in the last 3-5 years on petroleum products attacking eps foam. It's a generalization. Petroleum products generally attack EPS foam.
but we aren't talking about generalizations. we are talking about building paper on icf. i don't care if acetone eats eps foam. or that soda eats pennies. someone made a statement that it was ridiculous and my contractor was an idiot because they are following what appears to be standard building practices with regards to portland cement stucco on ICF, both from the local building inspector, the portland cement association web site, and a number of home owners and builders on this forum. throwing out random statements won't help people to build green. "if you put building paper on ICF walls, your exterior wall will collapse and look terrible because the paper eats the foam." Oh, no. I will use 2x4's, because that is too scary to use ICF's. |

I'm not understanding what is at the center of your angst. You keep responding to my posts, but you don't seem to be saying anything. |

I will definitely ask some questions when we'll choose our stucco. One of the things I used in my test was a piece of "tar paper" from a roll that was 15 years old. I can't tell you exactly what brand it was or anything. It appears to be more heavily coated with tar than the "building paper" I see nowadays. It's the same as what we used to call "tar paper". It attacked the EPS mildly. Modern building paper did not. However, both the tar paper and the building paper had come off before we got to the Solar Torture test, so I can't tell you if the heat would have changed it or not.
Now, you are saying that the building paper didn't attack the foam from what you could tell. You most likely knew that we were talking about current building paper, and you still chose to say that petroleum products generally attack eps foam. why not give this experience at the time versus saying it was silly to ask for proof? |

i love how you choose not to read the statement, and then make irrelevant statements. for your simple minded self. People who don't know anything shouldn't make false statements. People who add nothing to the conversation except to make themselves feel better should just go away. What value did you add to this thread with your statemet? Nothing. You do the exact thing that you are complaining about. Lovely. I guess when you live somewhere where it rains all of the time, all you can do is criticize people and offer nothing of value. |

actually, yes, you are the one posting irrelevent worthless drivel. People have done that before. It's your reaction to it that is the problem. BTW, it's spelled 'irrelevant'. |

i guess it is your evil twin using your handle. you are in serious denial about what you post. when you write something, it isn't a personal attack, no matter what you write. classic. being condescending and asking people if they are upset is a personal attack, but your myopic eyes can't see that. such is life. i will share in the wealth in the future, so we can all have fun on this forum. |
